Healthy breakfast for kids.
Nutrition isn't always about what we eat, but rather how we prepare it. This recipe is great for toddlers (and older ones) who love the taste of chocolate.
Ingredients:
• 1/2 c almond milk
• 2 tsp honey
• 6 Oz semi-sweet dark chocolate
Preparation:
Combine ingredients in a glass jar, cover, shake, and let sit overnight in the fridge. Enjoy cold.
If your child is used to drinking cow's milk, try making this with their favorite non-dairy drink instead. Also, almond milk can get pretty thick, so if needed, add some water before serving.
1. Oatmeal
Oats are made from wheat berries that have been germinated, steamed, rolled into flat cakes called “flakes”, then dried naturally. Oats are high in fiber, protein, iron, B vitamins, zinc, calcium, magnesium, phosphorous, copper, manganese, selenium, omega-3 fatty acids, antioxidants, and vitamin E. They make a great healthy snack for your children. Oatmeal has been proven as an effective treatment for childhood constipation.
2. Egg White
Egg whites are packed full of protein, B12, DHA (omega-3), chorine, iodine, riboflavin, lute in, niacin, pantothenic acid, selenium, thiamine, biotin, folic acid, vitamin A, vitamin B6, vitamin C, vitamin D, vitamin K, and vitamin E. Eggs are also a good source of vitamin D, making them a great option to add to your child's diet.
3. Yogurt Fruit Parfait
Yogurt fruit parfaits are perfect for a morning meal. Frozen fruit can be cut into small pieces and placed into yogurt cups. You can use any flavor of yogurt, but I recommend using plain Greek yogurt. Add seeds if desired. This recipe also works well for older children.

1. Protein
Protein is needed for healthy muscle growth. You need protein to build bones, muscles, skin, hair, nails, and blood. Your body can make some protein from what you eat; however, not all your food needs to have protein for you to get enough protein. A lot of foods that you may think don’t contain protein do! This includes bread, cereals, pasta, rice, beans, potatoes, eggs, tofu, milk, cheese, yogurt, peanut butter, and meats like chicken, fish, turkey, beef, lamb, sausage, and cottage cheese, and Greek Yogurt. If you are looking to add protein to your diet, try eating these foods instead of those mentioned above. Be sure to include them in your diet at least twice per week.
2. Fruit
Fruit is packed with vitamins and minerals to give your body energy. They are also full of antioxidants, fiber, water, and carbohydrates. Most fruits contain vitamin C, vitamin K, folate (folic acid), iron, magnesium, copper, manganese, calcium, phosphorous, zinc, iodine, riboflavin, niacin, pantothenic acid, chorine, B6, thiamine, and selenium. Some types of fruit are better than others. Try to limit yourself to 5-7 pieces of fruit each day. Avoid sugary drinks such as soda pop and juice drinks. Cut back on drinking sweetened beverages such as coffee, tea, and alcohol if you want to consume fewer sweets.
3. Whole Grains
Whole grains help lower cholesterol levels, maintain heart health, and keep weight down. When choosing whole grains, look for the American Heart Association seal. Also, choose brown over white rice, oats, and corn. These types of grains provide a great source of fiber and nutrients. Fiber helps regulate bowel movements and gives you a sense of satiety.

1. Eggs
Eggs are loaded with protein, vitamins, minerals, and healthy fats. They can be easily incorporated into your diet by including them directly into your morning meal routine. If you’re not eating eggs for breakfast, try adding some to your salad for lunch or even just eat them out of the shell while you’re watching TV.
2. Oatmeal
Oats contain a high amount of fiber that helps keep you feeling full longer, giving you less of a chance to snack on junk food. This combination of carbohydrates and fiber can help improve blood sugar levels, keeping you feeling energized throughout the day.
3. Milk & Yogurt
Milk contains calcium and vitamin D, both of which are essential for strong bones and teeth. Vitamin D also has a positive effect on our mood. Add milk to yogurt for a healthy boost of probiotics and probiotics (good bacteria). You can find flavored yogurts at almost any grocery store.

It’s no secret that eating healthy can be hard work at times. When we are busy and have a lot going on - we tend to eat fast food or takeout meals. But what if we don't have time to cook? Then what do we do? Well, it's simply we make choices. And these choices are how our bodies start to break down into illness. We can choose to eat better while having less stress in our lives.
As adults, we need to understand that this is not a choice anymore. This is a lifestyle that has become routine and needs to change! So, today I am sharing some tips with you about how to make your breakfast healthier without sacrificing flavor. Here are my top three favorites for healthy breakfasts.
Banana Nutella
Banana Nutella is something that I always crave after coming home from school. I love this recipe since it tastes like a combination of pancakes and chocolate chip cookies.
Oatmeal Pancakes
These are oatmeal pancakes that are topped with peanut butter and bananas. They taste delicious and they provide you with protein and fiber.
Baked Omelet
Baking eggs are such a quick and easy way to prepare eggs. In addition, baked omelets are usually healthier than the usual style of cooking eggs (fried). The best thing about them is that they have all the flavors of a traditional omelet but without the cholesterol.
